I praised Heart of Worcestershire College under Michelle Dowse as a national model for supporting young carers during a Westminster Hall debate. I commended its one-to-one mentoring and practical transition schemes, helping students balance education with caring responsibilities. I called for a national push to adopt similar approaches.
These young people balance responsibilities most adults would struggle with. HoW College proves that with the right support, young carers can achieve their full potential.’ My intervention follows securing £1.1m capital funding for the Redditch campus.
