Pride in Place
Backing Growth and Investment Across Redditch and the Villages
I’m proud to have secured £20 million of government funding for Greenlands and Woodrow through the Pride in Place programme - a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in the people, places and potential of our community.
I made this announcement from Woodrow First School, surrounded by local children, teachers and parents - a fitting symbol of what this funding can achieve for current and future generations. This is a moment to celebrate, to dream big and to put local people at the heart of decision-making.
A once-in-a-generation opportunity
This £20 million fund can be used to make meaningful changes that truly matter to residents - from improving community spaces and youth facilities, to expanding skills training, supporting local jobs and creating safer, more welcoming neighbourhoods.
It’s about more than buildings or infrastructure - it’s about investing in people. I want to see this funding support projects that bring neighbours together, improve wellbeing and give young people hope and opportunity close to home.

Guided by local people
The Pride in Place investment will be shaped by local residents, community organisations and businesses. Those who live and work in Greenlands and Woodrow know their areas best and their voices will guide every decision.
Whether it’s restoring pride in local parks, opening up new routes into training and employment or creating new spaces for families and young people, this programme is about empowering communities to lead the change they want to see.

Delivering for the whole constituency
This is just the start. Redditch and the Villages deserve get their fair share of investment and opportunity, across every part of our town and rural areas.
From supporting small businesses and high streets to backing apprenticeships, infrastructure and green innovation, my mission is simple: to grow our local economy in a way that benefits everyone.
Together, we can make Redditch a place where opportunity thrives, families flourish and every community feels proud of where they live.
