I joined residents, veterans, the Royal British Legion and local leaders to mark the centenary of Redditch’s Garden of Remembrance. Established in 1925 on land donated by the Earl of Plymouth and designed by John Gibson Blakey, the garden has provided a peaceful sanctuary for reflection and gratitude for a century.
The ceremony included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by the Mayor of Redditch. I thanked the Royal British Legion and the council’s Place Team for their dedication, calling the garden a living testament to sacrifice, service and the enduring values that unite us all.
