Highlighting Dementia Care Crisis in Parliament

I spoke in Parliament to call for urgent action to improve dementia care, drawing on moving accounts from families in Redditch and the Villages.

In a Commons debate, I highlighted that only 65% of over-65s thought to have dementia receive a diagnosis—leaving many without vital support. I condemned the postcode lottery in care provision and shared heartbreaking stories of local families forced to sell loved ones’ homes due to inadequate options.

I welcomed recent NHS funding commitments but urged the Government to prioritise dementia care with fair access, better support and real investment.
