I welcomed Labour’s first Spending Review as a major win for Redditch and the Villages. The review delivers £29bn extra a year for the NHS—boosting GP and dentist appointments—and £15.6bn for transport upgrades, including the long-awaited Midlands Rail Hub to improve local rail services. Schools and nurseries will receive modernisation funding, with 4,500 children benefiting from free school meals. A £39bn affordable housing programme and £69.9m for Warm Homes energy upgrades—saving families up to £600—will support local households. It's a serious plan to rebuild our economy and deliver security for working people.
