I welcomed the Government’s decision to create North and South Worcestershire unitary councils from April 2028. Backed by five local authorities, this replaces the two-tier system to deliver tailored services and unlock economic growth. Speaking in Parliament, I pressed for transition funding to support staff. Former Housing Secretary Steve Reed confirmed additional funding.
