I reaffirmed my backing for the Employment Rights Bill, a landmark reform to deliver greater security at work. The Bill introduces guaranteed hours in contracts, protections against workplace harassment, stronger family-friendly rights and safeguards against exploitative fire-and-rehire practices.
Peers in the House of Lords voted to weaken these measures, forcing the Bill into parliamentary “ping-pong.”
I voted to restore the full protections and pledge to keep fighting so working people in Redditch secure the fair treatment and stability they deserve.
