Demanding Action to Fix Broken Water Industry

I demanded urgent reform of England’s water industry following the Independent Water Commission’s final report and a Commons debate on rising bills, sewage spills and executive bonuses.
Redditch residents have paid more for failing services while water company CEOs pocket extortionate bonuses. We must never again abandon bill-paying customers.
I welcomed the Govenment’s plans to overhaul the sector—replacing Ofwat with a single regulator, introducing real-time sewage monitoring and strengthening enforcement—but warned action must follow swiftly to ensure the interests of Redditch and the Villages come first.
