Defending Adoption and Kinship Families in Parliament

I spoke in Parliament to defend the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund, warning that planned changes risk deterring future kinship carers and placing further pressure on local councils.

In a Westminster Hall debate, I drew on my experience as a former county councillor and corporate parent, emphasising the social value of investing in vulnerable children’s futures.

I’ve met incredible young people in Redditch supported by this fund. Without urgent Government action, we risk failing them. I’ll keep fighting to protect this vital support for families and children.
