DEBATE ON OFSTED JUDGEMENTS FOR STATE SCHOOLS

I was pleased to participate in the urgent question and debate regarding the government's decision to scrap one-word Ofsted judgments for state schools with immediate effect. I strongly support this decision and believe it's a landmark moment in resetting relationships between educators, parents, and the Department of Education. We all want a robust and fit-for-purpose inspection system that continues to drive higher standards. I hope the government's new 'School Report Cards' will be more collaborative and provide parents with a clearer, broader picture of school performance.
