Challenging Rigid Cancer Transport Rules

I challenged rigid hospital transport rules in Parliament after my constituent Kevin was denied transport. Kevin, undergoing very gruelling oesophageal cancer treatment, was refused non-emergency transport to long-distance appointments as he uses neither wheelchair nor oxygen. In a Commons debate, I argued eligibility criteria fail those most in need. Sir Alan Campbell, Leader of the House, agreed to raise Kevin’s case with Health Ministers. I am continuing to press for urgent reform and urge affected constituents to contact my office.
