I joined over 40 cross-party MPs and health organisations in urging the Government to develop a dedicated National Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Plan. In a letter to Health Secretary Wes Streeting, I warned that with over 7.6 million people living with heart or circulatory disease and cardiac waiting lists at record highs, urgent action is needed. CVD remains one of the UK’s biggest killers, causing around a quarter of all deaths. I am calling for a focused plan to reduce premature deaths by 25% within a decade and ensure communities like Redditch receive faster, life-saving care.
