Backing Action to End Furniture Poverty

I attended a Parliamentary drop-in event hosted by End Furniture Poverty to discuss solutions to tackle furniture poverty, which affects six million people—9% of the UK population. The event, sponsored by Danny Beales MP, highlighted the impact of living without essential furniture, from preventing children from attending school to increasing NHS pressures.

I stressed the need to adjust the Decent Homes Standard to ensure every household has access to essential furniture and appliances. I remain committed to working with organisations to support families in Redditch and improve living conditions nationwide.
