Attending Parliamentary Session on Trail Hunting and Rural Communities

I attended a Westminster session organised by the League Against Cruel Sports to discuss trail hunting, animal welfare and the impact of hunting on rural communities.

MPs reviewed new polling and evidence on current legislation, with concerns that, more than 20 years after the Hunting Act, loopholes and enforcement challenges may mean it is not always working as intended.

Rural communities deserve to feel confident that the law is clear, effective and properly enforced, and I welcome the opportunity to examine potential reforms ahead of the Government’s expected consultation on hunting policy.
