Securing Ministerial Meeting to Strengthen SEND Accountability

Georgia Gould MP (Minister for School Standards) met with me following months of casework and parliamentary pressure to address concerns raised by families across Worcestershire about delays, poor communication and children not receiving the support they are legally entitled to. Drawing directly on constituent evidence from Redditch and the Villages, I pressed for enforceable accountability powers for local authorities, sustained funding for SEND provision and high-quality teacher training. I emphasised that increased resources must be matched by clear consequences when duties are not met and reaffirmed my commitment to continuing discussions as the forthcoming Schools White Paper is developed to deliver a fair, responsive system for families.
