Demanding Mental Health Support in Every School

In a Commons debate on student wellbeing, I raised urgent concerns over the 65% rise in hospital admissions for children with mental health issues between 2012 and 2022. Calling for true parity between mental and physical health, I pressed the Government for a clear plan to ensure every school has dedicated mental health provision. In response, the Minister announced plans to recruit 8,500 new mental health staff and open new Young Futures hubs nationwide. I reaffirmed my commitment to securing early, school-based support for young people in Redditch and the Villages and across the country.
