Backing Campaign to Protect Southcrest Woodland

I visited Southcrest Woodland in Redditch to highlight the importance of protecting ancient woodland and biodiversity. Joined by the Woodland Trust, I witnessed the natural beauty of this rare habitat and heard about the urgent need for government action to restore damaged ancient woods. I pledged to champion the Woodland Trust’s “Rescue Our Forgotten Forests” campaign and push for fully funded recovery plans, stronger legal protections and increased support for landowners. I stressed that protecting ancient woodlands is vital for tackling climate change, supporting wildlife and securing a greener future for the next generation.
