Showcasing Ridgeway Secondary School’s Remarkable Turnaround

I welcomed senior Department for Education officials to Ridgeway Secondary School in Astwood Bank to celebrate its exceptional progress and discuss future support.

Under Headteacher Matt Ball, Ridgeway has improved its Progress 8 score from -0.62 to +0.43—placing it in the top 18% of schools nationally and first in Worcestershire for progress in EBacc, Maths and Science.

With student numbers projected to rise by 20% this September, it's clear Ridgeway is a beacon of ambition in our community. I’ll keep fighting to ensure it gets the support needed to build on this success.
