I welcomed National Grid's decision to withdraw controversial plans for a 30-meter mast in Headless Cross. The withdrawal follows a public meeting on March 26th where residents voiced significant environmental concerns about the proposed installation. National Grid has committed to exploring alternative locations while maintaining the region's electricity security.
This is a victory for common sense. I'm delighted for local residents, especially the organising team who have been a joy to work with.
The company has pledged to focus resources on finding a more suitable location, ensuring both infrastructure needs and community feedback are respected.
