Calling for Bold Investment in Youth Services

In a Commons speech, I urged the Government to reverse a decade of decline and invest in high-quality, accessible youth services. Reflecting on my own experience at a village youth centre, I described the vital, non-judgmental mental health support once available—now lacking for many young people in Redditch and the Villages.

I warned that cuts have decimated youth provision just as social media, cost-of-living pressures and mental health challenges have intensified. I called for bold, long-term investment, clear national standards and dedicated funding to give every young person the support they deserve.
