Securing Cyber-Resilience Index Scrutiny

I secured a Government commitment to subject the new Cyber-Resilience Index to parliamentary scrutiny after a devastating Jaguar Land Rover cyberattack disrupted Redditch’s manufacturing supply chain. Challenging Ministers during Cabinet Office Questions, I argued national security cannot become an excuse for secrecy and demanded transparency to protect local jobs. Cabinet Office Minister Dan Jarvis confirmed oversight mechanisms are being developed. I stated the index must ensure large firms protect suppliers, adding that I’ll be watching closely to make sure it delivers for Redditch jobs.
