About Chris
Chris lives in Aston Fields with this Fiancé Charlotte and their rescue cat ‘socks’. Chris has lived in Bromsgrove District throughout his life apart from leaving the area to attend University. Chris lived in Wythall for 18 years and attended Coppice Primary School and Woodrush High School before attending Birmingham University. Since leaving University Chris has worked for non-profit and charitable organisations Show Racism the Red Card and the Jubilee Debt Campaign. Both organisations have a clear goal of promoting tolerance and bringing people together from different backgrounds. Chris also worked for Birmingham City Council as part of a small team preparing the City’s local businesses and organisations preparing them for the changes to the laws in regards to smoking indoors.
Chris’s grandfather was a policeman, his mother worked in the NHS for nearly 40 years and father worked for the BBC so public service has always been an integral part of his family. Chris was elected to represent Sidemoor Ward on Bromsgrove District Council in 2011 with former Councillor Eddie Murray. In 2015 he was re-elected as the local Councillor for Sidemoor with nearly 50% of the vote in the newly redrawn boundaries. Chris was elected to represent Bromsgrove South Division on Worcestershire County Council in 2013. Chris is heavily involved with local community campaigns including the recent campaign against the downgrading our Dolphin Centre, he is campaigning to reduce speed limits on local roads and for infrastructure improvements in Bromsgrove including the building of a western bypass. Chris holds regular surgeries at Bromsgrove library and in the communities he represents via street surgeries. Chris delivers regular newsletters and letters to keep residents informed about key local areas.
